So we've had these military people for the past 2 days now for gym class. Yesterday we did sit ups/pushups (i failed horribly. 10 and 22). Today we had to run two miles timed. So I set off and everything, the army guy keeping watch of my laps/time was very encouraging and nice and all. On my last lap, I was about halfway around (after walking a few yards) when this guy was trying to get one of the other girls to start running. He started running with her and all, but then she started walking again. He kept encouraging her and all, and at this time I had started running. He says, "Okay, you'll run with me, great.." or something like that.
So I decided to myself, "Okay, Justina, He is Lord Voldemort. GO GET 'EM!!" Mind you, this is my eighth lap around the track, and my legs are like jelly. So I started speeding up and he's like, "Yeah, yeah. Keep going! Nice job! Keep it up!" and all that jazz. There was a point where for two seconds I'm thinking I need to stop but then I reminded myself, "No. This is LORD VOLDEMORT! HE WILL KILL US ALL!" So I was almost caught up with him as I reached the finish line. We were only about 3 feet apart from each other. He high fived me and said I did a good job and all.
So I was on my way back in to the gym and he was walking down the steps just a few feet in front of me and he told me again how good a job I did, and I told him thanks. This was the next part of our conversation, which made my day:
Me: So have you ever seen the Harry Potter movies (I'm thinking, how could you NOT!?) ?
Army Dude: Yeah, I have.
Me: Well, I just pretended you were Lord Voldemort and I was chasing after you..
Army Dude: Really? Wow, we've got a Harry Potter fan here.
Then I went to the locker room. This guy is now officially cool and I want him as a personal trainer. lol. And the fact that our military personnel have seen HP gives me hope that our country is safe. lmao. This really made my day. I can't get over it. It's just too totally awesome.
Oh, and Quinn - I borrowed Jc's MP3 player while I ran today so I could listen to the AVPM soundtrack. Get Back to Hogwarts was on repeat the whole time. lol.
