PERSONALITY
Crazy son of a horse.
Lucifer lives up to his name well. Even though he should be mature, he isn’t really. Which is where Carver comes in. The only time Lucifer behaves himself is usually when Carver is in the saddle. When Delany first bought Devil’s Delight, Carver and him went at it, both battling for dominance. After a few hospital visits on Carver’s behalf, the horse submitted and is calm under saddle-for the most part. However, in the alley he’s a real bitch. Crow hopping and half hearted rears make people instantly realize that it’s the golden palomino giving all the trouble. But once Carver gets the bad streak out of him, Lucifer gives near perfect runs every time; he hardly ever knocks down poles.
HISTORY
Lucifer was born from a breeding of an excellent brood mare and the world champion pole bending horse at the time. They were both calm tempered horses, so it’s often pondered why Lucifer is such a crazy stallion. Nonetheless, whatever his temperament, he was outstanding at turning on a dime, and his stop was poetry in motion.
Poetry In Motion was actually going to be on his pedigree, but before his owner could write it, she was rushed outside to look at something. It was Lucifer, who had totally trashed the feed room after freeing himself from his stall. With a goofy horse grin on his face. Thus Devil’s Delight was born. When Delany saw what the 9 year old could do, she purchased him on the spot. For a substantial amount of money, of course.
So that is how Lucifer came to be in Carver’s possession. Of course, he gets along fine with other horses, except for Carver’s mare, Pyromaniac Tendencies. Those two fight more than cats.
DISCIPLINES
Pole bending.
