EDEN CALLUM; And I've always lived like this, keeping a comfortable distance And up until now I had sworn to myself that I'm content with loneliness. Because none of it was ever worth the risk, well you are, The only exception, you are the only exception. ________________________________________________________________________
He laughed at Sky's lack of faith in her own direction and pulled her up from the couch. Tossing the trash from their meals into the bin, the pair made for the door, the cheery bell again tinkling it's sweet song. The air was warm outside and Eden squinted against the bright afternoon sun. He wondered how long they'd been in the coffee shop. The hours had blurred together today. Eden lost his sense of time when he was with Sky. It was unsettling, but he kind of liked it. It had been lunchtime when they entered the coffee shop, and as they exited it seemed to be late afternoon. He was content, his stomach full with delicious food, his hand still connected to Sky's. He walked down the street with a big stupid smile on his face, looking like quite the dork. His fingers found the spaces between hers and slid into the comfortably, interlocking their hands tightly. Eden had never held a girl's hand before. It was nice; really nice. He felt like he was just made of happy as they wandered through the main street, heading back to Windsor. His mind ran through his room, wondering if it was clean. Eden tended to be tidy but he was a typical boy; tidy usually meant everything was just shoved out of sight. He had a private dorm room, which meant that he didn't have to worry about anyone else's mess. The room should be fairly clean, and if it wasn't, he could quickly kick anything out of sight when Sky wasn't looking.
They were nearing the campus, and eden was again struck by the beauty of the place. The Academy rose up like a huge castle, which it essentially was, towering above the smaller buildings. Huge green paddocks surrounded it on all sides, and even from this distance Eden could see faint paths leading off onto the trails. The stables sprawled out near the academy, grand and impressive, several buildings located nearby. Eden identified the feed barn, the indoor arena, and with a smile, the hydro-pool. Everything looked so beautiful and impressive. Eden still couldn't really believe he was here. His eye caught the shape of the dorms and instinctively he changed his trajectory to go toward them. He wasn't sure exactly where Sky's room was, so as they entered the hallway of the female dorms, he decreased his speed and turned to her. Off you go, he smiled, shaking her hand in an encouraging gesture. Eden had never been in a girl's room before, and no matter how hard Sky tried to shove him out of her room, he was definitely going to slip inside and get a peek. Eden's curiosity was one of his strongest traits, and his eyes sparkled with it as he waited for Sky to find her room. ________________________________________________________________________

There are no stars out tonight The moon's a little weak too The trains echo in the background World spins slow tonight -- My Genuine Find
She smiled as Eden slid his fingers through the gaps in hers, entwining their hands together. The heat of the outdoors was sweltering and what she really wanted to do was relax. When the two finally reached the girls dorm, Sky led him down the hallway, stopping when they reached her door. After a few moments, she opened it, walking inside with Eden trailing behind. Once they were inside, the teenager shut the door behind them and led Eden to her bed, which was the only thing decorated in the dorm room. Eh, she hadn't had enough time to do everything. Sitting Eden down on her bed, Sky pointed one finger at him, a smirk on her lips. "Stay." She turned and glanced around the room again. "I'm sorry it's so bare, I haven't done crap to it, yet." She mused, heading toward the closet. Stepping inside, she shut the door and turned on the light, thankful she hadn't unpacked all of her clothes yet. She had unpacked some of them though, and hung them up nicely. Drifting her fingers along the clothes slowly she stopped periodically to snatch a piece of clothing off a hanger and then continued her search. After a few moments, she seemed to be satisfied with the variety of cloth in her hand so, after checking to make sure the door was closed, she quickly changed, discarding her clothes on the floor. After a few minutes of shuffling around to get her clothes on, she stepped out, fully changed. Grey sweat pants that cut off at the knee, a black tank top and a blue and white striped hoodie pulled on over that. Without looking at Eden, she stepped over to the bathroom, and slid inside. In the matter of about seven minutes, she had brushed out her hair, put it in a ponytail, and removed all of her make-up. Not to mention brush her teeth. After she had cleaned up the mess she had made, she walked out of the smaller room, finally meeting eyes with Eden. "I'm all done now." She teased, a giant, playful grin on her face as she gave him an overexaggerated thumbs up. She walked over to him, and grabbed his wrist, pulling him up off her bed. "Be my own personal mapquest. Where do I go?" She laughed, sliding her hand into his. As they exited her dorm, she let Eden take lead, following after the boy like a little puppy. She wanted to know how his room looked. Rooms said alot about their owners, with few exceptions, and she really didn't know what to expect with the clumsy teenager. As they walked, Sky worried her bottom lip between her teeth, anxious as to what Eden really thought of her. Like, in reality. It was weird.

EDEN CALLUM; And I've always lived like this, keeping a comfortable distance And up until now I had sworn to myself that I'm content with loneliness. Because none of it was ever worth the risk, well you are, The only exception, you are the only exception. ________________________________________________________________________
Eden smiled and sat obediently on Sky's bed like a good little boy. He watched with interested eyes as she moved about the room, sliding into the closet to get changed. While he waited he cast his eyes around the room, not really finding anything that caught his interest. It was clear that Sky hadn't had time to personalize her dorm yet, seeing as the bed was the only colorful thing in the room. Eden bounced on it slightly, testing the springs and bouncability of the mattress. It was sufficient, and he relaxed on the mattress while he waited for Sky. She exited the closet and made straight for the bathroom. Eden patiently waited again, tapping out a little rhythm on the floor to occupy himself. After a little while Sky finally emerged, giving him a grin and a thumbs up. He bounced to his feet, returning her thumbs up with enthusiasm and making his way to the door.
They set off at a comfortable pace, her hand back in his. Eden liked holding her hand, and he didn't really want to let go. He glanced at Sky's outfit briefly. Apparently the dress code for their sleepover was casual, and he was keen to get changed into something comfortable. The late afternoon sky was darkening and it was getting colder as day fell into night. The boiling temperature of mid-morning was long gone, and he wondered what Envy was doing now. Tucked up in her stall, she was probably munching on some hay or chatting to the horses next door. He would have to go down and feed her in a couple hours. While he was at it he might put a rug on her and let her out into the paddock for the night. It would be a cool night, he could already tell, but with a rug Envy would be warm and the fresh air would be good for her. Envy loved being outdoors, and a stall annoyed her after a while. Eden smiled as he thought of the sight he and Sky would make down in the stables, feeding and rugging their horses while wearing their comfy clothes. It would be yet another delicious memory in probably the best day ever.
It wasn't long before they reached his room, and eden reached into his pocket and unlocked the door with a silver key. He pushed open the door and let Sky in first, sliding the key back into his pocket. When she was safely inside he followed her, shutting the door tight behind them, twisting the lock as a habit. The room was comfortable. It was exactly the same as Sky's, with a closet and a small bathroom, but instead of two beds it contained only one large queen bed. There was a bedside table to one side, on top of which sat a lamp and Eden's current novel. Another pair of glasses perched on top of the book's cover, this time with red frames. The bedside table had two drawers which didn't contain anything particularly interesting, just more books and things that didn't really fit anywhere else. There was a large window on the wall opposite the door, and it looked over one of the back paddocks. It was currently slightly ajar, letting a cool breeze into the room. There were still suitcases shoved against the wall, clothes spilling out of the top. Eden was still in the middle of unpacking. A chair sat in the corner, several pairs of breeches and jeans draped over the top. His closet was ajar, and Eden gave Sky's hand a squeeze before letting go and walking toward it. Make yourself comfortable, he said to her, gesturing toward the room. The bed's blue sheets were unmade but clean, the quilt slightly rumpled with Eden's previous night of sleep. The two pillows were stacked on top of each other, a small decorative pillow on the floor next to the bed. Eden's mother believed rather strongly in small decorative pillows.
He wandered into the closet, picking up some warm, comfortable clothes and heading to the bathroom. Shutting the door, he removed his jeans, shirt and vest, pulling on the striped boxers. Eden didn't own sweatpants; it was strictly breeches and jeans when it came to long bottoms. He pulled a rumpled grey t-shirt on over his head, following it with a grey sweater, a howling wolf embossed on top. It was probably the world's dorkiest sweater, but this wasn't exactly a fashion show and it was the most comfortable thing Eden owned. He rather loved the sweater. The wool was soft, not that scratchy kind, and it always smelled nice. To finish off his runway-ready outfit, he donned striped socks and faced the mirror. Quickly brushing his teeth, he splashed some water on his face and ran a hand through his hair. He smiled at his reflection, knowing Sky was waiting for him in the next room. How lovely. She was a very special girl; he'd already known that, but he was just realising it more and more with each passing moment. There weren't many girls who would be this comfortable with someone so quickly. Sky was already in her pyjamas around him. That kind of easiness was comforting. Eden liked how free she was. He opened the bathroom door and did a little dance on his way back to the bed, spinning around to give her the full view of his outfit. He gave a little curtsey and jumped on the bed with a grin. Oh, dear. That coffee was definitely hitting his system now. He beamed at Sky, hair sticking up at all sorts of crazy angles. So what do you want to do? I've never been to a sleepover before, his eyes were bright with excitement and his voice high and eager. Eden was definitely excited for the night's activities. Truth or Dare? Truth or Double Dare? Truth or Truth? His smile showed his excitement as he waited for Sky to respond. ________________________________________________________________________

There are no stars out tonight The moon's a little weak too The trains echo in the background World spins slow tonight -- My Genuine Find
Sky had caught the side glance Eden had given her, his clear brown gaze sweeping over her whole ensemble. It was a rather different way to see herself, the girl mused, lost in thought as they ambled down hallways and corridors to Eden's dorm. His hand was much bigger than hers, so the boy's hand practically ate Sky's. It was nice, and she showed content by swinging their enclosed hands gently between the two. Finally, after what seemed like a long time, they reached his dorm. Or, what she assumed was his dorm. He could have been stealing something, or murdering someone, or feeding the cat his friend keeps for him, or... holy shit. What was she thinking? She made an odd face for a few moments before recomposing herself. Oh, God, that damned sugar from that stupid drink and the fricking two danishes and a brownie were kicking in. She would probably be a little crazy tonight; and then crash hard. Infact, she was even thinking straight. She made a mental note never to have that much sugar in one sitting, as apparently it was not doing good for her. As Eden gestured for her to enter the room first, she smiled at him and flounced into the room, sugar bubbling in her veins. She glanced around, raising her eyebrows in a show of approval. It was a relatively nice room, considering it was owned by a boy. She took his words to heart and immediately launched herself onto the bed which was sheathed in soft, blue sheets and a quilt. After taking in the whole room, she had decided. It was adorable, just like the boy himself. She giggled at this thought, dropping down on her back, looking up at the ceiling while feeling the cozy blankets underneath her. It seemed like Eden was only gone two seconds before he reappeared, sporting different attire. She smiled at his new appearance, and giggled as he turned around in a circle for her to view him. "Cuteee." She commented, drawing out the word longer than it was normally pronounced. She leaned back as Eden jumped on the bed next to her, eyes bright with what she guessed to be the effects of the coffee he had just consumed. So this meant he was just as hyped up as she. Sky placed a smiled at her face, hazel eyes lingering on Eden's hair. The sporadic spikes were appealing, and she wanted to mess it up even further. Which, as an effect of the sugar, is just what she did. There was no containing herself. Skyla got on her knees, leaning forward to place her hands on Eden's hair and give it a good ruffle. She sunk back, a smirk on her face. "I swear. If you ever shave your head..." She left the threat open, tone teasing and light. She grinned at his words, looking at him with doubt sparkling subtly in her eyes. "Of course you've been to sleepovers. Everyone had been to at least one. Not necessarily co-ed, but the same general idea." Sky paused, trying to gather her thoughts. She didn't really know exactly what to do here. She hesitated, fingers tapping soundlessly against the soft blue sheets she had tangled herself in. "Well..." She started quietly, stopping before she went on. "We could watch a movie, or play a game, like, err, you know. This is college. Shouldn't we play things like strip poker and beer pong?" She joked lightly, patting Eden lightly on his shoulder. And then she started to pet his shoulder. Not in a creepy way. Okay, it was a little creepy, but the girl was amazed at how soft the sweater was. She moved closer and put another hand on his chest, rubbing lightly before stopping her insane touches. "That's a really soft sweater you have there." She said, attempting to laugh away the awkwardness. After a few minutes of silence, she spoke again. "But I'm pretty sure we don't want this rated X, hah. So I guess we can just start with a simple game, like truth. No dare. But we can do lots of other stuff too." which I can't think of at the moment., she added in her head. Shaking these thoughts mentally, she switched her focus to Eden, a smile on her face. When she had woken up this morning, snuggled under a boy's sheets was not how she had planned to spend her night. Now, of course, things had changed. Suddenly, a realization came over the girl, and she looked around nervously. "Err, Eden? There's sorta, kinda only one bed."

EDEN CALLUM; And I've always lived like this, keeping a comfortable distance And up until now I had sworn to myself that I'm content with loneliness. Because none of it was ever worth the risk, well you are, The only exception, you are the only exception. ________________________________________________________________________
Eden screwed up his face as Sky rumpled up his hair, laughing at the ridiculous antics of the girl. She was truly a person that you had to be on your toes around; always full of surprises. Eden liked it. The hand on his head withdrew and he opened his eyes, which he had scrunched up patiently to allow Sky her fun. Her teasing threat made him smile. Eden was well aware that his hair was slightly fantastic; it was about the only part of his physical appearance that he was partial to. It often had it's bad days, where it wouldn't lie flat, or it would lie too flat, and all other variations of flatness and non-flatness in between. Generally, though, it looked pretty good. Of course, after Skyla's interference, it now looked better than ever. Not. Eden shook his head roughly, flinging the hair back into it's normal positioning and smiling at the girl before him. He bounced up and down slightly on the mattress, rearranging his lanky limbs underneath him, folding his legs underneath his body and placing his palms flat against the sheets on either side of him.
He nodded absent-mindedly as Sky spoke. Well, yes, Eden had been on sleepovers before. But they were always with guys, and they had always spent the whole night gaming. LAN parties were actually really fun, if you were into that sort of thing. Everyone brought their own laptop, headphones, charger, and converged in someone's bedroom - it was usually Eden's, simply because of the space issue. His room at his parent's Las Vegas mansion was practically the size of a small apartment, and had comfortably accommodated all the boys and their gaming equipment - and stayed up the whole night, yelling and laughing and furiously navigating their on-screen alias through the quests and adventures. Lots of junk food and sugary drinks were consumed to fuel the boys along their all-nighter. But Eden suspected that his experience with sleepovers wasn't really the sleepover that Sky had in mind. He made a face at the mention of beer pong and strip poker. Eden hated the taste of beer, and he sucked at poker. Sky would no doubt whip him at both of those games, and he wasn't particularly keen on ending up drunk or naked tonight. He raised an eyebrow... maybe the second option wasn't so far out the window. Then he realised that he was Eden, and instantly remembered that he could barely even kiss Sky, let alone remove all of his clothing in front of her. So that was definitely a no-go zone, at least for tonight.
He ignored her pat on the shoulder as he continued to think to himself. After a few moments, he realised that Sky's hand was still petting his shoulder, and Eden curiously looked down at the hand, watching it as it traveled down to his chest, where it rubbed in circles. Eden's face was clearly a 'wtf' expression, and as she withdrew her hand, he looked up at her face, eyebrows raised on confusion. The baffled expression cleared as she spoke, and he smiled, nodding his head in agreement. I know, he replied, tone light and agreeable. He reached out and with a single finger, poked Sky lightly in the nose. Okay, he said calmly. Truth it was. He couldn't think of a single question to ask her, and cast his eyes up to the ceiling for inspiration. Hmm. As he was musing, Sky interrupted his thoughts with a nervous little sentence. Eden latched his gaze on to her, and stupidly looked around the room for another bed. Oh. Right. There wasn't one. Eden's room was private, and because there was no need for another bed, it didn't exist. Instead, there was one double bed, exclusively for Eden's use. Eden bit his lip, worrying it between his teeth. Oh, yeah... crap. Um, well I guess I could sleep on the floor. He hadn't even thought about the fact that they would have to share the bed. It was large enough that they could both be comfortable without tangling limbs underneath the covers, or waking up with an elbow in your face, but if Sky was uncomfortable then Eden would have to accommodate her. He didn't want her feeling weird; not if there was something he could do to stop it. One night on the floor wouldn't kill him; he was quite happy to do it, if it meant waking up with Sky still in his room the next morning. ________________________________________________________________________

There are no stars out tonight The moon's a little weak too The trains echo in the background World spins slow tonight -- My Genuine Find
Sky scrunched up her face as Eden poked her nose, raising an eyebrow briefly in confusion. His actions made a giggle escape her lips, eyes flashing with amusement before her facial features smoothed out, and Eden's hand was back at his side. The boy was silent, and she couldn't tell if he was ignoring her, or thinking, but she was leaning toward the latter. His brown eyes were raised to the ceiling, as if some magical question was going to pop out and scream. Which, by the girl's standards, would be weird. Oh, God. The sugar was fueling her brain, and helping it conjure thoughts such as the previous. She really shouldn't have had that much sugar. Not to mention that she was probably going to have to work hard to burn off the freaking ten pounds gained by the little outing. Though it was worth it, since she got to spend time with the brown haired boy next to her. As he spoke, Sky focused on him, her eyes wide and Innocent. At Eden's words a soft smile overtook her features and she tilted her head a little, still looking at him. For some insane, asinine reason, his statement had really touched her. Oh, good Lord the sugar rush was intensifying. But, still. She sighed in a manner closely resembling a cliche, overused, washed up sort of way. "Um, no. I was just wondering." She embellished this with a smile, leaning forward a little. "I don't mind." Perhaps it was the pure, unadulterated chivalry in his words that made her smile. Whatever it was, it was damned potent. Sky lost the innocent look and returned to normal, in a sense, hazel eyes wandering to the window and then back to Eden. If he wasn't going to ask her anything, then Sky had something that had suddenly popped up. Something she sort of, kind of, really wanted to know. And, before she knew it, the question flew out of her mouth before she could drift through her sugar stupor enough to stop it. "Oh God. You don't like, have someone you really like at home, do you? Or someone that really likes you?" Her eyes widened at all of the possibilities. Was she a home wrecker? Save that Eden wasn't married so that could happen, but still. Her mind wheeled frantically as the effects of the sugar, and the presence of Eden slowly sunk in, causing the crazy thoughts. She looked at Eden, his impeccably messy hair, clear, puppy-like gaze, and dorky, soft little sweater and smiled faintly. Who cared if she was a metaphorical home-wrecker. And then, in a spur-of-the-moment-plus-insanity-from-sugar, Sky did something weird. Well, not too weird, random was a word that suited it better. She bounced onto her knees and practically tacked Eden with a hug, producing enough force to nearly knock the boy over. Oh God. She might as well be drunk.
outfit;; awww. it's so blergh. notes;; sooo, i don't know why, but it's late and i'm posting. i promise a cohesive post tomorrow. and, i would feel bad for sky. she has that deal where she can't have sugar because it has the same effect of intoxication. well guess who that's modeled after. -.- *points to self*

EDEN CALLUM; And I've always lived like this, keeping a comfortable distance And up until now I had sworn to myself that I'm content with loneliness. Eden smiled in relief as Sky said she didn't mind sharing the bed. It wasn't that he was against sleeping on the floor if it would make her feel more at home, but Eden's bed was rather comfortable, and definitely beat a night on the carpet. Like a typical teenager, Eden had a love/hate relationship with his bed - that being, he loved being in it, and hated getting out of it. Probably the only thing that got him out of bed in the morning was knowing that without him, Envy would be stuck in her stall all day, hungry and un-exercised. Of course there were stablehands milling around the Academy, but there were so many other chores to take care of that the students were responsible for their own horses. Eden couldn't expect a busy stablehand to notice his horse amongst the numerous others, take pity on her and do Eden's jobs for him. Part of being at Windsor was responsibility, something that Eden had in bucketfuls. He might be forgetful, and clumsy, and rather dense when it came to normal teenage-boy things - like kissing a girl, for example - but he was nothing if not diligent and caring when it came to his wonderful mare.
Skyla's panicked voice reached his ears and Eden looked to her, eyes flying up on his forehead in concern. As her words registered in his brain, the eyebrows contorted into disbelieving curves. Eden? Having more than one girl? For God's sake, he could barely handle one. Two was just way beyond his experience. His 'are you kidding me?' expression really spoke more obviously than words could, and he simply sat staring at Sky, unable to speak. Did she not get it? Girls did not like Eden. It wasn't the done thing. The fact that Sky did, was proof of how unique she was. Probably the first girl in the world to not be turned off by his clumsy, awkward self. For some reason it seemed to do the opposite; turn her on, unfathomable as it may seem. He was continually baffled by her, but he liked it. Eden didn't have some great love waiting for him at home; this was his home, and his only great love was tucked up in her stall, waiting for her dinner.
There was a sudden flurry of movement, and Eden was bowled over with the weight of Sky's body pressed firmly against his in some kind of fly-tackle-hug. Her arms wrapped securely around his neck and Eden was knocked backwards, instinctively flinging an arm backwards to brace himself against the mattress. He managed to remain seated - he didn't even want to think of the awkwardness that would have ensued had he fallen flat on his back, with Sky on top of him - and instead wrapped his free arm around her tightly, laughing loudly at the ridiculous hug. Sky pressed tight to him. She was warm. Her weight was comfortable. Eden patted her back lightly, signalling the release of the hug, before he realised that this was to be one of those long, solid, rememberable hugs. He let his palm stop smacking her gently on the back, the sound echoing hollowly through her ribcage, and instead slid his hand further around her body, pulling her closer. He nuzzled his face into the crook made by her shoulder and neck, breathing in the lovely, sweet summery scent of her. Sky's hair tickled his cheek and he inhaled a whiff of her shampoo, some kind of apricot or berry perfumed wash. Eden snuggled tightly against her, the contours of their bodies matched so perfectly that even in this slightly awkward position - Sky practically kneeling before him, Eden's legs still loosely crossed underneath him - that the hug was probably one of the best he'd ever received. Actually, scratch that. The best.
Reluctantly, he pulled away, releasing his tight hold. Only the thought of their horses wanting their dinner made him let go. Eden ducked in and placed a soft kiss on her cheek, smiling at her. He slid off the bed and scrambled to his feet, holding out a hand for her to lever herself up with. Come on. We have some equines to feed, he said with a smile. After Envy and Dezzy were all taken care of, the sleepover could really start. Eden's grin grew wider at the thought of it, and he felt the first stirrings of the butterflies in his stomach. ________________________________________________________________________

There are no stars out tonight The moon's a little weak too The trains echo in the background World spins slow tonight -- My Genuine Find
The girl had caught the bewildered expression on Eden's face as she mentioned the fact he may be hoarding another girl somewhere. Oh. I take that as a no. She thought to herself, somewhat relieved. Tackling the boy had been fun, and she relished in the warmth that radiated from him. For a few seconds, he seemed to be caught off guard, patting her back awkwardly as he sat there. She felt his laugh vibrating his chest, entertained that he was that amused by her antics. She smiled as he caught on to what she really wanted, enjoying the feeling of his arm snaking around her torso, and his face gently nestling into the crook of her neck. She responded in a like-wise fashion, pressing against him, and burrowing her face into his shoulder. Inhaling his smell... which she could really only describe as manly. A cologne-y type scent, but with tiny hints of other unidentifiable things. She liked it. Their awkward position didn't really bother her either, and she liked how his arms fit around her upper body. All in all, it was a good hug. Then, too soon by the teenager's standards, Eden pulled away. She was about to emit a sound of protest when she felt his soft lips on her cheek; that was enough to keep her silent. Switching her gaze to him, she saw his smile, and returned the gesture. Skyla grabbed the hand Eden held out and hauled herself off the bed in a matter of moments. "Oh yeah!" She exclaimed, remembering her black gelding who was waiting for her in the barn. "Little Dezzy needs his food." She added, more to herself than Eden. Still holding his hand, she led him toward the door, unlocking it before continuing outside. The girl let go of the boy's hand, so that he could lock his room back, and brought it up to stifle a yawn. After Eden finished locking his door, she took his hand again, practically pulling him toward the stables. Once they escaped the confines of the dorms, she relaxed, slowing down to glance around. The sun was sinking on the horizon, throwing orange and purple hues all over the sky. Sunsets were always Sky's favorite part of the day. It intrigued her that they never looked the same, although they all contained the same basic colors. Swinging their connected hands as they walked, the took in the green scenery Windsor had. Coming to this school had been something Sky had only wished for, not ever taking the time to actually think she would be invited. Yet, here she was, at one of the most prestigious schools in the world. "I like Windsor. It's really great here." Sky began as the pair reached the stables. She led him down the width of the building, and then down a long row of iron and wood stalls. Finally, they reached her horse's stall, the name plaque which read his name making her smile. She couldn't have come to Windsor had it not been for Dezzy. "I think Dezzy likes it too." For emphasis, the black gelding craned his head out of his stall, a friendly whicker sounding from her ebony lips. With a giggle, she dropped Eden's hand to rub the horses' nose gently, leaning forward to kiss his velvety muzzle. "Okay, well, I'm going to go get his food." She said, heading off in the direction of the feed room. Stepping inside, she grabbed a scoop and carefully measured out Dezzy's portions, leveling and weighing things in her hand for extra measures. Returning to her horse, she tossed the food in his feed bin, snickering as he made a beeline for the sound he loved best. Sky tore a flake of hay from a nearby square bale, tucking it under her arm as she slid into his stall. The eating horse paid little attention to her, and only a flick of his ear alerted her to the fact that he knew she was there. Shoving the hay in his hay net, she stepped out of the stall with an affectionate pat on Dezzy's broad shoulder. After closing the stall door, she stood for a moment, picking little bits of hay off herself while she contemplated whether to put his rug on him tonight or not. Making a soft humming noise in the back of her throat, Sky made her way over to Envy's stall, the little black mare giving a amicable nicker at the teenager's arrival. "Eden? Do you think I should put Dezzy's rug on him tonight? I don't think it'll get too cold, but..."

EDEN CALLUM; And I've always lived like this, keeping a comfortable distance And up until now I had sworn to myself that I'm content with loneliness. Because none of it was ever worth the risk, well you are, The only exception, you are the only exception. ________________________________________________________________________
Eden gave a somewhat ungracious snort as Sky referred to her horse as 'little Dezzy'. If there was one word to completely not describe Dez, it was 'little'. 'Monstrous' would be more appropriate, or possibly 'gigantic', but definitely not 'little'. Her black gelding towered over his little black mare. Eden smiled and easily linked his hand with hers, scooping up his key and locking the door behind them in a swift gesture, turning around smoothly and following her lead. Eden was rather impressed with his coordinated movement, until true Eden-ness stepped in. Dropping his key on the floor, he bent down and fumbled for it, straightening up just in time to be tugged unceremoniously down the hallway by an enthusiastic Skyla. They darted down the hallway and stepped out into the open, the sunset welcoming them with bright streaks of color. Eden watched it in awe, his mouth slightly agape as he took in the beautiful purples, oranges and pinks of the evening sky. He glanced over and saw Sky in similar wonderment, grinning at her and returning his gaze to the sky.
Her voice interrupted his daze and he nodded in agreement, his smile saying more than his words could. Windsor was the best decision he'd ever made. Eden hadn't taken the typical route into the school, and he often regretted his father's use of influence and money to ship his son off to the prestigious academy, but when Eden was walking under a sunset with an incredible girl by his side, he was never more thankful for the opportunity he had been given. He was so hugely grateful that he simply murmured an agreeing noise to Sky's words. The pair reached Little Dezzy's stall and Eden stretched out a hand to stroke the horse's long face. They were already great friends after their day together, and Eden smiled at the equine before remembering that he had his own horse to take care of. He smiled his 'be right back' as Sky and darted over to Envy's stall. The mare's head was already hung over the partition, waiting impatiently for her owner to arrive. Eden blew her a kiss and seized her feed bucket, doing an awkward run-walk to the feed barn. He followed the memorized routine, scooping and weighing different portions of grain and feed, mixing them together with a dash of hot water. Envy, like most thoroughbreds, had an annoyingly delicate stomach, and Eden had spent a long time with his trainer, figuring out a detailed feed schedule. The clumsy thing that he was, he often got it wrong, but tonight luck was with him and he nailed the complicated feed the first time. Hefting the bucket onto his arm, Eden tore off a flake of hay from one of the bales nearby, and made his way back to his awaiting mare.
It took a little more coordination and skill than he had to dump the feed into Envy's manger while simultaneously clutching the hay, but somehow Eden managed to slide the feed into the bin without spilling it. Envy promptly shoved her nose in and Eden set down the bucket, cramming the hay into her haynet and letting himself out of her stall. He refilled her water bucket and rinsed out the bucket he'd used to transport her feed, and hung it upside down to dry. The second he finished, Sky appeared at his side. Eden smiled at her. They looked like ridiculous dorks, dressed in their socks and sweats, in the middle of the stable. He loved that she didn't care. Eden brushed a stray piece of hay off his wolf sweater and looked at Sky, chewing his lip thoughtfully before responding. I was going to put Envy's rug on and turn her out for the night. Doesn't look like it's going to be too cold and she likes the paddock better than the stall, he said to his companion in a contemplative tone. He ruffled his hair absent-mindedly while watching Envy scoff her dinner. What do you think? he questioned Sky, turning his body to face her. It was nice having someone to discuss horsey things with. Eden had never had that before. He didn't have many friends at his old stable, and his friends from high school were only interested in gaming. He smiled at Sky, waiting for her thoughts on the subject at hand. ________________________________________________________________________

There are no stars out tonight The moon's a little weak too The trains echo in the background World spins slow tonight -- My Genuine Find
The girl contemplated Eden's words, bringing a hand to her chin in a customary 'thinking' pose. Why hadn't she thought of that? Her big gelding absolutely loved being put out in the paddock-what horse didn't? Sky couldn't think of a horse who preferred the stall over the paddock. "Actually, yeah! I don't know why I didn't think of that." She embellished her words with a small chuckle, reaching out a hand to stroke Envy's elegant black nose. "But, I think that's a good idea." Flashing his a smile, she turned away to head for the tack room. It didn't take long for Skyla to reach the small room. Or, really it was just little compared to the barn itself. On it's own, the tack room was enormous. Much bigger than she had ever expected. As she set foot into the room, the sharp smell of leather and the musky scent of wool met her, mixing together to create an oddly comforting fragrance, which mixed nicely with the horsey odor that smothered every corner in the whole building. Striding down the length of the room, Sky stopped once she had reached the section which housed her equine's equipment. She hauled his thick rug off of it's shelf, letting out a small, surprised groan as it's full weight came into her arms. Since Dezzy was so big, she had to opt for an extra large rug. Which, since she had only brought his thickest one, was a heavy object. Presumably heavier than his saddle, as well. Throwing the purple piece of fabric over her shoulder in a rather awkward manner, she headed back to her black horse, remembering to use her knees instead of her back to carry Dezzy's rug. Upon reaching her horses' stall, Dezzy stretched his nose out to her, grunting happily. "Hey boo. Do you want to go out tonight?" She cooed, voice dripping with the annoyingly sweet tone people seemed to adapt when talking to babies or animals. Slipping into his stall, she heaved the blanket onto the equines back with another grunt. Sky giggled as the black gelding jerked his head up with a snort, backing up nervously at the sudden feeling. "Easy Dezzy." She murmured, patting his large shoulder softly. Calming down, Dezzy gave a snort and swung his snout around, flicking an ear in her direction. "It's just a rug." She smirked, softly poking his muzzle after every word to prove her point. Reaching up, she re situated the violet rug, which only took a few moments, as she had practiced many times. Putting her horse out to pasture was something she firmly believed in-the girl thought it made him happier. And a happy Dezzy equals happy scores. After taking a second to buckle the numerous straps, she slid out of his stall to grab to halter and lead hanging next to the door. Turning back to her horse, Sky buckled the black halter around the horses' bug head, appreciating that he lowered his head for her. Clipping on his watching ebony lead, she walked him out of the stall, turning to shut it behind them. She had to admit, Dezzy looked handsome in his purple rug and black headstall and lead. He had first had a beautiful frosty white ensemble, though after a muddy outing, she had abandoned that idea. His heavy hooves made loud clip, clop. on the hard floor, and Sky made sure to keep her feet well away from his. She didn't have her usual boots on, and a broken foot wouldn't fare well with the auburn-haired girl. Arriving at Envy's stall again, she smiled at Eden, running an absent hand through her hair. With the lead looped loosely around her arm, Dezzy kept the rope slack, lashing his tail nonchalantly against his hard, black hindquarters. "My baby is all ready for a night out." She giggled, rubbing his broad nose affectionately. She returned her gaze to Eden, giving him a light grin. "So, after this what do you want to do?"
outfit;; awww. it's so blergh. notes;; rargh. i'm sorry i didn't take them to the paddock. i just thought that was much too god-mode-y. xD but yeah. you can take them to the paddock... put the horses inside... even go back to the dorm if you feel like it. (:

He smiled at her enthusiastic agreement and trotted after her willingly, following her to the tack room. He stayed on her heels like a little puppy until they passed the threshold, where he veered left as she went right. Passing several lockers and saddles on racks, he drew to a halt as Envy's familiar tack came into view. Eden stretched up on his tiptoes, fumbling around on the small shelf above her tack, until his fingers grazed the material of her rug. Grasping it and pulling, it tumbled down and landed heavily in his arms. Eden staggered under the sudden weight of the rug, hefting it into a more comfortable position in his arms. Envy was just an average-sized horse, but her owner was a slightly-less-than-average-sized dude, and the sudden thump into his arms had caught him off-balance. When he had a good hold on the dark red rug, he turned on his heel and went back the way he'd come.
Envy looked up to greet him, halfway through her dinner. She buried her nose back in her feed as Eden let himself back into the stall, the straw crunching under his socks. He had mucked out a couple hours ago so the bedding was thankfully unsoiled; it would be beyond gross to step in manure when he was wearing bed socks. He heaved the rug onto her hindquarters, arranging it clumsily. Envy ignored him and continued eating. Eden began fastening the straps, until he realised something was wrong. It took him several embarrassingly long moments before it clicked. He'd put it on backwards. Cheeks flushing red, he quickly rearranged the rug and buckled it nice and snug. Envy looked cute in her blanket, the dark red fabric contrasting with her jet black coat. The mare was now finished with her dinner, nosing her owner curiously for the next adventure. Eden smiled at their great timing, and stretched his hand over the stall door, groping for the halter and lead he knew were hanging on the wall. He retrieved them and buckled the black halter on his horse's lovely face, clipping on the dark red leadrope that matched her rug. Envy looked like a major cutie in her pyjamas, all ready for bed. Eden kissed her on the nose before leading her out of the stall. The intelligent mare saw her new best friend, Dezzy, ready and waiting in his own rug, and immediately knew that tonight was a paddock night. Envy stretched her nose out to Dezzy and snorted excitedly, tugging on the leadrope a little to get closer to Sky and Dez. Eden was yanked along after her and arrived at Sky's side, flushed and laughing. Mine too, he agreed, beginning to lead the way. He watched the ground carefully for horse 'presents', not wanting to get his comfy socks dirty. The night air was pleasantly cool on his skin, and they emerged from the stables into a twilight sky. There were plenty of other horses in the paddocks, all of whose owners' had come to the same conclusion as Eden and Sky. Tonight was a lovely night, and the horses would definitely enjoy being turned out. They reached the fence and Eden opened it, allowing Sky to go through first, before following with Envy and unclipping the leadrope. Have fun, pretty girl, he said to the mare, kissing her on the nose. Envy waited patsiently until Dezzy was freed before trotting off with a flick of her tail.
Eden retreated to the fence and exited, latching it behind Sky. He looped the leadrope over one of the rails, where it would wait for him until tomorrow morning when he was ready to collect his mare. He watched Envy briefly before turning to Sky with a smile. What to do now? They could do lots of things. They could play a game, or they could watch a movie, or they could chat, or - Eden's preferred option - they could go to bed. The night was still very young, but it had been a long day, and he was tired. The training and the swimming and the eating at the cafe had all nibbled away at his energy levels until he had almost none left. He smiled at Sky, her bright, eager eyes boosting his bounceability. Last one back's a horse turd, he grinned, before spinning on the spot and launching off into an uncoordinated run back to his dorm. ________________________________________________________________________

There are no stars out tonight The moon's a little weak too The trains echo in the background World spins slow tonight -- My Genuine Find
Sky's big black gelding bobbed his head as Envy made an excited whinny. It seemed that both equines were looking forward to a fun night to frolic where they pleased. Following Eden and Envy, Sky liked the way Dezzy's hooves made loud noises as the met the hard floor. After traveling like this, the group finally emerged from the barn, underneath the dark sky. Smiling, the teenager looked up, mesmerized by the vibrant glow of the moon, which was beginning to become more apparent. It was nights like these where she went out for a quiet midnight ride with Dezzy. Though, she couldn't exactly do that here. Not now. Later though, perhaps she would invest some time in the beach. That would make a beautiful midnight outing. Once they reached the large paddock, Eden opened the gate for her, and she led Dezzy inside, fumbling to get his lead rope off. She chuckled as she finally got it, after several moments of wrestling with it. Planting a gentle kiss on her horse's soft muzzle, she smiled and turned away. Dezzy, enjoying his freedom, gave his head a sharp shake and nickered to Envy, flicking his tail roughly to the side. Sky giggled at her horses' actions and placed the black lead gingerly next to Eden's, so she could find it in the morning. At this, she turned back to Eden, noticing his thoughtful expression. She turned her eyes skyward once more, taking in the natural beauty of the night. At his words, Sky's eyebrows shot up and her head turned quickly to look at his already retreating figure. And indignant "Hey!" flew out of her mouth as she scrambled after him, tripping the first few steps from her own haste. After she had regained her balance, the teenager shot after him, arms swinging and hair streaming out behind her. She slowly caught up to him as they neared the dorms, and she started to chuckle at his awkward running technique. Once they reached the dorms, Sky had caught up to Eden and was pulling ahead. Infact, she pulled ahead just enough to touch his room door seconds before he himself did. Breath coming out raggedly, she waited until he had opened the door before stumbling inside, laughter taking up what little oxygen she had left. The girl bent over, bracing herself on her knees. Smiling, she turned to look at Eden, not trusting herself to speak coherently until she could breath normally. After Sky had managed just that, she spoke. "I guess this means I win." She started laughing again, her amusement fueled by the race in general. She straightened up and walked over to Eden, a smirk on her features. That race had been the icing on the cake. She was dead-beat. The sugar rush was approaching it's end, and the teenager was ready to crash. Not before something she wanted to do, though. Lop-sided smirk cemented onto her petite features, Sky closed the distance between herself and Eden. She tentatively placed both hands on his chest, leaning into him so the the only thing not touching was their faces. Those she spaced a few inches apart. Her hazel eyes stared into his brown ones, not moving elsewhere. "As winner. I claim my prize..." Her tone was lower than usual, borderline seductive. The air tensed slightly, her heart beating erratically. She paused, leaning in a little bit closer. Her lips lingered by his, and she couldn't help a smile crawl over her features slowly. When their lips were centimeters apart, she finished speaking. "I call the right side of the bed." She giggled and leaned away, skipping over to the comfy blue bed. Jumping onto it, she crawled over to the right side, and sat down, gathering the blankets around her shoulders, and snuggling into them. "Heh, that means you get the left." She prodded with a grin.

Because none of it was ever worth the risk, well you are, The only exception, you are the only exception. ________________________________________________________________________
Her indignant shout rang in the air behind him and Eden laughed loudly, the wind whipping the sound out of his mouth. He could hear Sky's thudding footsteps behind him, catching up quickly, and Eden notched up his speed a little, leaping over a little shrub. He was not a pretty runner. There were boys who ran like thoroughbreds, sleek and refined, and there were boys who ran like quarter horses, powerful and fast. And then there was Eden. His horse equivalent would probably be an awkward, fat little Shetland trying to outrun a racehorse. Eden knew that he wasn't an attractive runner, and so he tended to avoid sprinting whenever he could. It was a gait only used in dire circumstances, when Eden was desperate to get where he was going. He flailed awkwardly when he ran, so eager to arrive at his destination that his legs far out-flung the rest of his body and he tipped forwards at the waist, and the whole run was just his torso trying to catch up to his legs. He laughed deliriously as he and Sky pulled even, sprinting to the dorms, looking utterly ridiculous in their pyjamas. The wind hit his face with a sting, his blood pumped hard in his veins, his heart slammed against his ribcage. They entered the dorm hallway and it was a dead sprint to his door, Sky pulling ahead slightly and taking the lead. Eden skidded to a halt and slapped his hand against the wooden door a second after she did. Fumbling for the key, he shoved it in the lock, twisted it, and burst inside the room with a wail of defeat. Nooo, I'm not a horse turd! he gasped, laughing and struggling for air. Closing the door behind them, he leaned against it, tipping his head back and taking big gulps of air. Sky was doing the same, and the room was filled with their noisy breathing as the teens pulled oxygen back into their overtired lungs.
When his heart rate was back to normal and his breathing calm, Eden slumped against the door with a smile, all of his energy officially gone. He was so unbelievably tired. The adrenalin was wearing off and he felt like he might fall asleep on his feet if he wasn't careful. He hoped Sky wouldn't want to do much more than watch a movie, because if she was up for a chat or some kind of game, Eden would be unconscious in about five seconds. Not the best gossip partner. If they watched a movie, Eden could quietly fall asleep and she wouldn't even notice. He looked at her and smiled tiredly. She looked as exhausted as he did. He could practically read her mind: SLEEP. Lucky his bed was so comfortable. He was still leaning against the door and he reached a hand down, searching for the handle, and locking the door securely. Sky was speaking again, and he turned his attention to her, weight still against the door. He wasn't entirely sure he could move just yet. When he was certain he could take a step without collapsing, then he would leave the door. For now, he was content to rest against it in exhaustion.
There was a gleam in Skyla's hazel eyes, and Eden's brow creased minutely as he watched her move across the room toward him. Move wasn't really the right word; prowl was more like it. Even in sweats and a hoodie, Sky managed to look seductive. It was incredible. Eden's breathing increased as she came up to him, palms flat against his chest, her body aligned against his so that everywhere touched. His nerves lit on fire quickly, heat pooling in his stomach. He swallowed. The air seemed to crackle with electricity as Sky brought her face in close. This wasn't the kind of feeling he'd gotten when they kissed in the coffee shop. That had been sweet, butterflies and honey, like a shimmering kind of magic. This was darker, heavier, thick with sweat and sugar. Eden's heart pounded under Sky's, the erratic rhythms shuddering in his chest. Sky's voice was dark, sexy, tempting. Eden spiralled under her words, eyelids fluttering closed. And suddenly, she was gone. Her taunt floated in the air, her warmth gone as she skipped to the bed. Eden's eyes sprung open and he stared after her, mouth agape, before bursting into laughter. He should have expected that. This was Sky, after all. Expect the unexpected.
He watched her bounce onto the bed, cuddling under the covers, getting comfortable for the night ahead. Eden smiled as she prompted him. With one last check that the door was locked and the light was off, he heaved himself off the door with a sigh and walked to the bed. His muscles begged him to lie down and relax, and he obeyed, sliding into the left side of the bed, sighing in relief at the comfort. He tucked the covers around him tightly, before smiling at Sky and reaching over to turn the bedside light off. The room was plunged into soft darkness, the moon shining through the window and faintly lighting up the room in black, white and grey. Eden could dimly see in the moonlight, and he settled back onto his pillow, cheek pressed against the soft cotton. There was silence, and Eden felt himself drifting in that place between awake and asleep. He yawned, and stretched out a leg underneath the covers, feeling it collide softly with another leg. He smiled. Sky. In his nearly-asleep state he'd forgotten she was there. It was delicious to discover that she was. Dimly teetering on the edge of falling asleep, Eden rolled over, pulling his pillow along with him so that it touched the edge of Sky's. He curled up behind her, matching his body in a mirror image to hers, tucking his knees in the crook of hers, settling her back against his chest. He slid a foot between her calves to warm it, and draped an arm across her stomach to pull her closer. He sighed, an inch away from unconsciousness, as comfortable as he'd ever been in his life. Goodnight, he murmured sleepily, words whispering against her ear. With a soft kiss to her neck, Eden was out like a light. ________________________________________________________________________

Sky flopped down on the bed, relishing the soft feel of the pillow against her cheek. She pulled the blankets higher around her neck and shoulders, trying to get warmer. The window being open was helping her cold temperature, but there was no way she could close it. It let the soft sounds of the night in, and that helped to lull the girl to sleep. She blinked slowly as the lights flipped off, and after a few moments Sky felt the bed shift with Eden's weight. He flicked off the bed side lamp and they were enveloped with silence. The teenager assumed Eden had fallen asleep, so she closed her eyes, truning over on her side. The sounds of Eden shuffling about barely registered in her tired state, so she ignored them. Then, out of nowhere, she felt him. Everywhere. He melded to her figure, pressing against her warmly. Her heart skipped several beats, and a smile drew over her face. His arm was slung over her stomach, pulling his closer to her in a comforting manner. Sky wiggled deeper into his chest, relishing the warmth that radiated from him. The boy was so warm. A soft kiss was placed on her neck, along with a mumbled goodnight. At the kiss, her heart practically flatlined. A blush spread over her cheeks and she felt the small inklings of butterflies flutter in her stomach. It was an incredible feeling, and it put a smile on her lips. "Goodnight." She whispered softly, drifting to sleep.

EDEN CALLUM; And I've always lived like this, keeping a comfortable distance And up until now I had sworn to myself that I'm content with loneliness. Because none of it was ever worth the risk, well you are, The only exception, you are the only exception. ________________________________________________________________________
He slept soundly, the girl cradled in his arms. Eden dreamed that he was riding Envy across a wide field. The field morphed into the rings of Saturn, and there was a race. He had to win! He pushed the mare on, faster and faster, until the ground was a blur beneath them. He could see the finish line, drawing further and further away. Envy disappeared from beneath him and it was just Eden, flying toward the finish. He had wings? It made sense so he didn't question it, keeping his eyes on the figure standing at the finish. It was Sky, of course, and Eden stretched out his wings, flapping furiously. In his deeply asleep state, the Eden slumbering in the big bed tossed and turned anxiously. In the dream he reached the finish, slowing his speed and touching down gently. Sky turned to him and smiled, and they drew together with a passionate kiss.
Dawn streamed through the window, lighting up the room in soft pinks and oranges. The night had been pleasantly cool, and the new day promised to be equally as pleasant. The horses in the paddocks moved restlessly, wide awake, grazing calmly and waiting for breakfast. There wasn't much movement in the hallways of the dorm, students too busy dreaming about tests and fantasies and other things all sewn up into unfathomable montages. Eden himself was deeply entrenched in his dream. The ridiculous, confusing race had finished and he was busy enjoying his prize, the living embodiment of which still lay in his arms. Over the course of the night Eden had rolled about vivaciously - he was what one would call a 'rowdy sleeper' - but last night had been particularly less eventful. He often woke up on the floor after a night of tossing and turning. Last night, however, Eden had remained rather still, tucked up behind Sky, the blankets curled around him. It had been one of the best night's sleep he'd ever gotten. The clock flipped over to 6:41 am and Eden softly drifted out of sleep, gradually becoming more aware of himself and where he was. It was a nice way to wake up, the sun filtering in through the window, warm and comfortable in his bed. He fluttered open his eyes, blinking groggily. He still had his arms wrapped around Sky and he smiled, watching her slumber peacefully. He stretched a little, curling his toes and yawning as he became fully awake. He felt an odd strain in his groin as he stretched. Eden furrowed his brow curiously, wondering what it was, before horror hit him like a truck. Oh, God. Oh, no. Not today. Not now. Oh, shit.
He was desperate not to wake Sky as he carefully slid away from her, moving to the edge of the bed, smoothly sliding out from under the covers and standing up. When he was safely away from her and she remained asleep, he bolted to the bathroom. He quietly locked the door and stared at himself in the mirror. Why now? It was cruel and unfair that this should happen. Sometimes he hated being a boy. Okay, yes, his dream had been a particularly good one, and he had been pressed against Sky the whole night. But seriously. Eden stared down at the lump in his pyjama pants with distress. Go away, go away, oh god, please go away, he prayed silently, squeezing his eyes shut and willing the horrible thing to go down. He thought of grandmas, dead puppies, blood, worms, insects, all the awful nasty things he could conjure up in his mind. Slowly, painfully, the blood drained away, and the ridiculous morning erection went down. He breathed a sigh of relief. When he was completely sure that it was gone for good, he opened the bathroom door and quietly made his way back to bed, easing under the covers and making sure to not touch Sky in case it happened again. He closed his eyes in annoyance at himself. What a way to wake up. ________________________________________________________________________
