PERSONALITY
Leah is a fiesty mare that is exactly like Zoe. She can't and doesn't care about anything that doesn't concern her. She's very stubborn and likes to play 'jokes' by lurching forward just as Zoe starts to get on. As much as the two fight, however, Leah and Zoe get along very well and neither can imagine a world where the other doesn't exist. Leah tends to have her moments and nuzzle Zoe. But that's usually only when a sugar cube or other treat is involved. Even River has figured out Leah's attitude and stopped giving the mare treats unless she deserves it. Leah also has problems with authority, leading to random outbursts. Sometimes when getting ready to show, she's refused to warm up. Even with this, she's never refused to compete.
HISTORY
Leah's name came from her being born out in the paddock during a fierce windstorm. A barn helper closed up the barn, thinking all the horses were in for the night, while Leah's dam was out grazing on a tree that was hanging just low enough for her to pick the apples off. The owner's were shocked to find their pregnant, prized show horse missing the next morning. When they went out to search for her, they instead found the mare with a foal covered in leaves.
They brought the foal into the barn, called the vet, and looked for any signs that would damage the value of their horse. The vet confirmed that the foal was a filly and a very good-looking filly at that. Eventually, she grew up to be a muscular mare with a temperment that the owner's couldn't deal with. They sold the horse to their local vet, Naomi Billman, who gave the horse to her niece.
