Personality:
Seth isn’t really much of a personality stereotype. Well, he is, but he isn’t. Perhaps average is the word to use to describe him. But what exactly is average, anyway? He’s a guy. Typical guy. He doesn’t care very much about what he’s wearing, but he can pull off the wrinkled shirt and 3 day unwashed jeans look perfectly. He isn’t that much of a jock, but he did play on the varsity baseball team. He isn’t very nerdy, but his marks are satisfactory. But he knows that he isn’t that punk/goth stereotype. They sort of freak him out.
He can make music. So that’s a music geek. And he loves acting, too. He was in every one of his school’s productions, and with the help of his friends, wrote one of his own. He plays guitar, saxophone, and piano. And he can sing. The sound of his voice makes even the birds to stop and listen. And his horse enjoys his simple tunes.
Seth is naturally very funny, and loves making people laugh. His childhood was filled with fun and laughter and trips to the stables, so he has very much to be happy about. Perhaps he’s the class clown, then. But he’s done his fair share of class skipping, and there’s some stereotype for that… He likes meeting new people, so that would make him a social butterfly. He does know how to be quiet and toned down, and some days that mood strikes him, and it makes him think of his mom. She died of cancer just before he came to Windsor. It was sort of her idea, the whole thing.
Appearance:
Hair Seth’s hair is sort of that shaggy-but-not-really kind of hair. It gets a little lighter in the summer (when he lets the sun get to his hair when he’s not wearing a helmet).
Body Seth has got quite the body. He only played baseball in school, but he still figured he might as well do lifting as well, and you can definitely tell. He’s very lean and has got plenty of muscle in his arms as well, from working at the farm. He had also taken gymnastics for a couple years when he was younger, but the only thing he can still do well is a handstand and cartwheels. And that isn’t something a guy usually brags about.
Style Seth isn’t one for style, but he has it naturally. He knows which clothes flatter him and which ones don’t. Of course, since when do riding breeches flatter a guy? He’s quite content going about his day in jeans and a graphic tee, but if it comes to school he usually goes for a smart button up or anything close fitting that would show off his body.
History:
Seth grew up in Ohio, which is in the United States, with a normal family. Normal mom, normal dad. Normal house, normal barn. The family’s barn was simply called Williams’ Creek, as it did in fact have a creek in the woods. Seth loved riding as a child, and his parents often found him sneaking out into the barn as a kid, just to “see if the horsie really sleeps,” as he put it. They thought he would do well in lessons, so with them both being trainers and not having time for lessons, they enrolled him at a local stable just down the road. He began in group lessons with several other children, and quickly progressed as he got older. When he got to middle school the teacher would occasionally become the student when Seth had read something new online about riding that the instructor hadn’t known before. They then began learning from each other and tried new things each time at a lesson. Seth had been in shows since he was ten years old, and he was a fairly good rider. True, there were always kids older and better than him, but it didn’t stop him. He loved the thrill of showing everyone what he could do, even if other kids were better than him.
When he was about twelve, his mom, Natasha, had developed breast cancer. Seth offered to put his lessons on hold and work around the stable to make some more money, as well as clean their barn at home so that Brett could focus more on training. Natasha refused this, and told Seth to make a deal with the stable owner that if he mucked, turned out and fed the horses there, etc that he could get at least two lessons a week (which was okay for him since he’d been getting four a week and he always offered to take less). The owner of the stable understood what the family was going through and agreed to the deal. Seth still competed and his mom came when she could. Seth started taking her cancer really hard. He then cut down on one lesson a week and still cleaned both their own barn and the local stable. Natasha encouraged Seth to keep up with his lessons and riding, though she needn’t remind him much, as it was his passion.
Natasha found a brochure somewhere about Windsor Academy and showed it to Seth, who seemed somewhat interested, but didn’t want to go because of money. She insisted that money was not the issue and that he would be going. They had already arranged for it. At this, Seth was immediately stoked about the school. And the family didn’t have to spring for a new horse, because he already had his own horse since age nine. A snappy looking paint gelding that would do almost anything for him. Quite literally. The horse could go western, jump, do trails, and if Seth had kept up with his gymnastics as a kid the horse could probably do vaulting. So this is where it starts. Right here, right now. At Windsor Academy.
