- JAMES CODY ; father ; gourmet chef.
Honestly, Liza never took to her family much. She didn't mind the occasional family dinner or short vacation, but she spaced herself from her family once she entered her teenage years. However, Liza was probably closest to her father. She always liked his carefree, I-won't-ask-you-anything-you-don't-want-to-say nature, and enjoys just sitting and watching him cook. - MIRIAM CODY ; older sister.
Miriam always acted like a motherly figure once her actual mother Celia left after the divorce. Liza and Miriam have always been fairly close, however, as Liza grew, she kind of grew out of needing Miriam's help. They still remain close but the bond is much weaker than when they were young. - HENRY CODY ; older brother.
Liza was never overly close to Henry. He began full time work once he graduated from highschool, never bothering to make an attempt at college or university. He became a sous-chef at his dad's restaurant, hoping to one day take on the family business.
personality
Liza usually gets stared at. It sounds self centered and stuck up, but Liza doesn't usually get stared at because she's "sooooo hot!!!!1!!1!" Most of the time, people just can't figure her out. She's a very unique person, with a strange, unconventional sense of style and behavior. She's just got a unique air to her that sometimes makes people mildly uncomfortable. When you get to know her, although, she is a really genuine person. She rarely gets caught up in trends or fads, so she just is who she is.
However, she is quite insecure. She doesn't look it - she wears confidence as easily and freely as she does her favourite flouncy purple skirt - but inside, she is quite insecure. This is mostly due to her history, but also because she likes to try things that are different and out of the "normal" label, so sometimes its hard to have people constantly staring at her and thinking "what is she wearing?!" She would never show it, though. She doesn't usually like to announce her emotions to the world by her eyes or mouth.
Finally, Liza is smart, but not in a book way at all. She's smart with people, and also, very smart in art. She's an artist, and she has a natural talent for it. Her costume design interest stemmed from her love of art. It's a talent inherited from her mother, who also has that special "eye" for colour, proportion, texture and shading. Her mother was the boring job of an interior designer, however, where as Liza has bigger plans than being a crappy paid interior designer. She is also people smart, as in she's good at reading people. She herself is not easy to read, but she has a knack for it. She's not a big talker, but she definitely isn't shy.
appearance
FACE - Liza has a slightly heart shaped face that's more round than pointy. Her face is a little bigger - not necessarily chubby, but her high cheekbones aren't overly pronounced. She used puts a bit of highliter on her cheeks to accentuate them and bring them out of her face. She has big brown eyes that usually have some a neutral brown or black rimming her eyes, as she likes to leave the craziness to her wardrobe. For the most part, she wears rather natural makeup with a touch of colour here and there. She is never caught without mascara - it's her number one must have. Other than that, though, she's not overly particular about her face. Her nose is rounded at the end. Her hair, however, is another story. She doesn't like to keep her hair colour the same for very long. Her latest colour, however, is probably her favourite. A red-brown with highlights in soft orange and dark umber. She adores it. She leaves it long, but doesn't mind curling it or straightening it. Preferably, she leaves it curled as it naturally falls.
BODY & CLOTHES - Honestly, Liza is not a twig. She is not skinny. It's just a fact. She's quite curvy, actually, and average height so the curves are evened out. Although she will always have those insecurities, she accepts her body as it is now. Liza's clothing style is the most interesting part of her, however. Because she is an artist/designer, this is reflected in her clothes. She likes to dress out-of-the-box, and will seize any opportunity to wear a dress. She doesn't respect people in yoga pants unless they are actually doing yoga, and she detests people who throw away their appearances because they don't like themselves. Anyways, she definitely dresses very oddly. She doesn't follow clothing trends, she more often starts them. To give you an idea of what she usually looks like, one of her favourite outfits is a puffy purple skirt with a thick black belt cincing her waist, a white v-neck shirt with an intricate black thread pattern on the shoulder and loads of gold jewelery. When she's riding, she doesn't have quite so many accessories, but she has found her own ways to dress originally.
history
Our story of how Liza Cody came to be began with the story of James Cody and Celia Wayling. James, just starting up his new buisiness, began dating Celia. They had met through their friends. Both were artsy and talented - James with his cooking, and Celia with her interior design. James took to Cee extremely easily, his confident, secure way of being making up for Cee's slightly cold, insecure manner. They were a great couple, but Celia always seemed a small bit detached - as if she were observing their realtionship constantly, but never really taking part. Celia soon found out she was pregnant with James' child, and they hastily agreed to marry. They took on the label of family and began to fit together okay. Miriam was born first, taking on James' personality and striding through the world with her held high. Henry was next - a beautiful baby boy, whom Miriam loved with all her heart.
By the time Celia found out she was once again pregnant with James' child, things were starting to fall apart. Unlike Henry's birth, Liza's was not planned. Liza was born February 14th as a child that took qualities of both Cee and James - quiet, but confident. By the time Liza was two years old, her mother left James with the kids, his hands suddenly full with three young children. The divorce was official before Christmas the year Liza turned two, Celia agreeing to take the children on some occasions but to remain detached from the family.
Liza was too young to remember her mother, so her oldest sibling, Miriam, took on a sort of motherly position in Liza's life. As they grew up, Miriam served as the emotional counsellor, kisser of booboos, intimidater of bullies and forever Liza and sometimes Henry's protector. Liza, entering grade school, was not an intelligent child. She didn't enjoy paying attention to school, and settled for half-assing most of her schoolwork. This continued until highschool. However, she was always quite social and people like her in elementary. She was also pretty chubby. It sounds mean, but she had some extra weight on her and sometimes got made fun of. This contributed to her insecurities as she grew, introverting her slightly.
In high school, she began to understand who she was. She could not concentrate on school work for very long and anything involving words usually lost her interest. What she excelled at was colour. She had this amazing ability to pinpoint colours and media of colour. When she began high school, she fit right into the loose style of art and art work. She began to make friends again, instead losing herself in the bigness of the school or the amount of people. She regained that bit of confidence, but the underlying self consciousness never totally left her.
What was most surprising was Liza's take to horses. She had constant contact with them with the stable beside their house, and her aunt was an avid ow to handle the magnificent creatures on the ground and easy work on lungeline and in circles. As she got older, she began to engage in riding competitively, excelling mostly in hunters. She liked the sleek look of the hunters, jumping nicely and not rushed and dangerous like the horses in Jumperland. She didn't mind jumpers, she just preferred hunters and some dressage. When she turned 16, she bought her first horse - an elegant Oldenburg her aunt had bred and back herself. But my, was Miles, or Miles From Ordinary, a handful! She was also surprised to learn she was going to an elite riding academy in England - Windsor Academy. This is where it all starts.
